On September 9, six matches were held in the KHL regular season. Let’s briefly summarize all the matches.
Ak Bars almost lost its two-goal lead in the last match and in Omsk, thanks to its attacking line, opened the scoring already in the 19th second of the match. Avangard, as you know, does not have a top three at the beginning of the season, but their place was taken by the youngsters of the second line. The trio Filatiev – Cassels – Reinhardt formed a beautiful combination, when the Omsk team equalized the score and then scored the winning goal towards the end of the match. Not only did Amur lose the first two matches of the season, but they also failed to score a single goal. Vyacheslav Gretsky took this heavy burden off his teammates’ shoulders already in the second minute of the match, after which the Tigers began to score in different ways and very easily. The referees disallowed another goal, which Amur eventually scored. Despite the victory, Andrei Martemyanov after the match in the victorious locker room walked harshly around the team and stated that “The prank organized at the end of the third period does not fit any goal.”

With all the coaches and all the lineups, Avtomobilist plays very hard in Nizhny Novgorod. Today’s match was no exception. “Torpedo” scored two goals, which came after making quick combinations on face-offs, moving away a little and not allowing the special team of Avtomobilist to show themselves. The match in Balashikha was attended by just over a thousand spectators, but this particular match became the most productive of the day. Vityaz debutant Ivan Chekhovich adapted well to the special selection of the team and scored a hat-trick of assists halfway through the first half: his teammate Derek Barak scored a “normal” hat-trick in the third half. “Sochi” had to replace the goalkeeper already in the sixth minute, and for most of the match the “leopards” chased, which turned out to be fruitless. The final assault failed: Sochi finished the match with only three players.

The brightest sign of the day turned out to be the driest. Rotenberg’s SKA always has a very hard time in matches against Nikitin’s Lokomotiv, and today the superstar attack of SKA did not score a single goal, and Evgeniy Kuznetsov was remembered more for his behavior in the penalty area. But for Lokomotiv, rookie legionnaire Byron Frase scored his first goal on one play, and Nikitin at the press conference already noted the Canadian game on the spot. Lokomotiv’s second goal also came on the power play, and within five minutes, after a very tough power play by Nikita Zaitsev against Georgy Ivanov. In Moscow, another foreign player scored his debut goal – he was involved in a huge scandal – Dillon Dube, who scored on a pass from Vadim Shipachev. With the score 0-2, Spartak had a monstrous second half, crushing their opponents with shots 17-3 and scoring four goals. While Ivan Morozov’s line was silent, Mikhail Maltsev scored a hat-trick. In addition, Adam Ruzczyk continued the parade of debut goals – his goal eventually became the winning goal.
