Kylly treated Ivan Provorov roughly and took him away from Dmitry.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are not only a hopeless outsider in the NHL Eastern Conference, but also one of the most interesting American teams for Russian hockey fans. After all, four of our guys play for the current Jackets at once: Ivan Provorov, Egor Chinakhov, Dmitry Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko. And when Daniil Tarasov appears in goal, he becomes a full-fledged Russian five.
It is true that our diaspora in Ohio could soon diminish. Clubs that are likely to play in the playoffs are actively interested in defender Provorov. Among the top contenders are Edmonton, which traditionally lacks smart defenses, as well as Tampa, which somehow needs to replace Mikhail Sergachev, who has been out for a long time.
What happened to Sergachev?

The NHL deadline is March 8, but for now Provorov plays 20 minutes per game for Columbus, being an important part of the team. Dmitry Voronkov reminded us of this once again today during a meeting with the Rangers. In the 56th minute, Provorov fell under a harsh attack (in Roman Rotenberg’s classification, an “attempted assassination”) from Will Kylie. The Blue Jackets’ Russian forward was nearby and immediately approached the Canadian and started a fight.

In terms of striking, it was probably a draw, but the massive Voronkov quickly forced Kylie to her knees, after which the referee intervened in the confrontation.

Dmitry is Columbus’ fourth scorer, while Voronkov is already in his third NHL fight. In October and November he got into fistfights with rivals, reaching the best league in the world, and now he took the opportunity to defend his teammate and compatriot.
Columbus confidently lost this match, but the Russians continue to give the Blue Jackets a show.
