In Kotelniki, near Moscow, an extremely strange and unpleasant incident occurred involving a local boxing trainer. A video from an intercom appeared online, showing how a man approaches a group of teenagers and hits one of them on the head, after which he reacts sharply with a retaliatory blow and unleashes a fight between them.
A much larger trainer dealt several blows to the boy, including kicks. As the boy fell, the rioter tried to lean on him with all his weight, until one of the bystanders intervened and stopped the fight. According to the Mash telegram channel, the name of the violent man is Gennady Martynov. Soon the police got involved.
The parents of the beaten child, after the removal of the blows, wrote a statement to the coach. Unfortunately, so far for the offender everything has been quite easy. After a half-hour interrogation, Martynov was released to his house, since, according to him, the conflict was started by a teenager who allegedly pounced on him with a knife.
This moment was not captured on video, so it’s hard to say for sure. It is quite possible to assume that the real cause of the incident simply did not get into the camera lens, and the boy was really able to behave bravely. However, this does not justify the behavior of an adult man who has ceased to control himself and did not even think about the harm that he could cause to the child’s health. In any case, it is sad that such incidents involving former or current boxing trainers are not the first or second time.
One of the most striking cases was recorded in the Urals last summer. There, the long-retired honor coach Boris Ryleev was charged with attempted murder. And the victim was his own student named Sergei. Ryleev had a conflict with his wife’s son, which led to a sad incident. One of the evenings, his ward visited the coach with an overnight stay, with whom they drank a bottle of vodka. At night, Boris mistook Sergei for his stepson and, being drunk, hit him several times with a hammer. Fortunately, there was no fatal outcome, but the case was opened, and Ryleev was threatened with a heavy sentence.

In May 2021, boxing coach Yevgeny Gerasimov had a conflict with his ward and his father in Lyubertsy. The 14-year-old boy refused to train under the supervision of a specialist, which led to a verbal altercation. After that, the teenager brought his father to him, and then the incident turned into a rather criminal character. Gerasimov broke the man’s jaw, and the boy, who tried to defend his father from him, was injured. At the same time, the coach himself claimed that he was only defending himself and did not admit guilt.
I would very much like the coaches of various sports disciplines to be in the news not because of quarrels, conflicts and quarrels, but on more pleasant occasions. However, the trend is still quite sad.
