The agent Jorge Machado, representing the interests of defender Mario Fernández, frustrated his transfer to CSKA. This was reported to Soviet Sport by sources close to the situation.
Mario was ready to return to Moscow with a salary of 1.5 million euros and reject the highest offer from Zenit. However, representatives of the St. Petersburg Club offered Mashad agency payments for the transition in the amount of 400 thousand euros, and he convinced the defender. This information is also confirmed by the telegram channel “Mutko contra”.
According to Sovetsky Sport, the Moscow club could have offered the agent four times less, and Mashad would have had them only in the winter.
Recall that in the spring of 2022, Fernández suspended the contract with CSKA and returned to his homeland in Brazil. In December of the same year he resumed his career by going on loan to Internacional, but in April of this year he terminated the contract with the Brazilian club and has not played since.
