Fiorentina will play in the Conference League instead of Juventus Turin, according to the team’s official website.
Earlier, the Committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on the financial control of clubs announced the exclusion of Juventus from the list of participants in European competitions for the 2023/24 season.
In May, the Italian Football Federation stripped Juventus of 10 points in the national championship standings in a capital gains case. The team was ranked seventh at the end of the season and earned a ticket to the Conference League, but will not play in the tournament due to suspension. Fiorentina finished last season in eighth place.
