Veronica Kudermetova’s younger sister, 21-year-old Polina, arrived at the Seoul base as a lucky loser and has already repeated her record in WTA tournaments, reaching the quarter-finals. She reached this stage exactly one year ago at the same tournament. Now, to beat her record, she needs to face the third racket of the competition, Beatrice Haddad-Maya, seven years her senior. The tennis players have not met before, but the winner will compete in the semi-finals with one of the pair Victoria Tomova – Veronika Kudermetova.

Daria Kasatkina had a successful start in the 500m in Seoul and will now compete with TBS champion Emma Raducanu for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament. The tennis players have already met twice and in both cases the Russian was stronger: in Ostrava 2022 and Eastbourne 2024. The winner of the new match will then fight one of the pair Diana Schneider – Marta Kostyuk.
