Johannes Klebo started the new season on the wrong foot.
Even before the preseason began, the five-time Olympic champion managed to get sick with coronavirus. Because of this, it was not possible to properly warm up and perform at the local tournament in Beitostolen (November 17-19). The illness ruined all the skier’s plans: poor preparation, unsuccessful start to the season. And now I am forced to miss the next phase of the World Cup. It will take place in Gällivare (Sweden) on December 2 and 3.
“The situation has gone from bad to worse. Today I will return home and I will not be in Gällivare. Maybe go back to Östersund or wait until Trondheim. We’ll see. I need to check what is happening with my body. And train more,” TV2 quotes Klebo.

The last time Klebo failed in his starts was more than a year ago.
