Pavlovich free again? Jones and Miocic still decided the fight of the year

With whom now to fight the hero of Russia?
The most anticipated fight in the UFC heavyweight division is yet to take place. After months of discussions, Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic agreed to fight for the championship belt and legacy. The two American legends will meet in the Octagon on November 11 at UFC 295. UFC President Dana White is naturally thrilled to put together such a big fight: “This is the fight Jon Jones wanted and this is the fight he wanted. Stipe wanted. It’s a legacy fight for both guys.”

Of course, any MMA fan will be delighted to see Jones and Miocic fight. Two legends of mixed martial arts, with a great history and amazing skills: a show of the highest level awaits us. It’s incredibly difficult to single out a favourite: both have mammoth experience, but there are also gaps. Jones recently moved up to heavyweight, and it’s unclear if he can handle long distance. A long downtime speaks against Miocic: The veteran hasn’t fought for more than two years.
Most likely, only one person is not happy with the announcement of the fight – Sergey Pavlovich. The Russian heavyweight, ranked number one in the division, was left without a possible fight with Jones. The possibility of John ending his career is too great after the duel with Stipe. By the way, Miocic is unlikely to be able to lend a hand: he, too, is close to hanging his gloves on a nail. A fight with one of the legends is practically excluded.
It turns out that now Pavlovich has no one to fight with. Almost all the top fighters are already taken, and fighting someone from the middle of the ranks is not profitable for Sergey. Therefore, it is quite likely that the Russian will once again act as a reserve fighter for the championship fight. Let’s remember that Pavlovich already secured the fight between Jones and Gan, so this role seems very familiar to him. However, sooner or later, the Russian will have a title shot, and he will definitely use it.
