Sochi in the new RPL season won the first round, and then lost three times. Dmitry Khokhlov’s team has been waiting for positive results. Rostov started well (if we cross out the humiliating meeting with Wings at a party) and was emerging as a favorite for the meeting with the Sochi team. The southern derby promised to be hot.
The match turned out to be hot. Not only because of the intrigue, but also because of the weather. The high temperature + congestion affected the condition of the players. Sochi’s Montenegrin striker Luka Djordjevic slipped past the guests’ defense and sent the ball past Pesyakov with a billiards kick. And “Rostov” is completely extinct. As a result, in the first half, the team hit only one shot, 0 on goal. What happened to the team that had easily taken Rubin out a week ago? Considering that Sochi fell back after the second goal and did not rush to attack.
The second half started the same way the first ended. Rostov attacked without success, Sochi competently defended and dried up the game with periodic possession. And I have good times. Although “Rostov” began to get something. Most often the guests threatened the gates of Nikolai Zabolotny with banners. But only Sochi residents scored.
In the 69th minute, Kramaric received a pass on horseback, ran about ten meters with the ball and launched a “parachute” into Pesyakov’s goal. The Slovenian scored a brace, scoring a brilliant goal past the disoriented Rostov goalkeeper. And the question about the winner was removed. “Sochi” seemed too confident, and the Rostovites frankly “floated”.
And a few minutes later “Rostov” scored the fourth goal into his own net. He only left the side Yuri Medvedev on the field, who scored.
In the third round, Rostov lost to Krylia with a score of 1:5. Now they lost to Sochi. The total score of two away games in the RPL is 1:9. What happens to Karpin’s team along the way? It should be noted that at the Rostovites Cup they lost the away match against Ural (0-1). It seems that Rostov is turning into an exclusively local team.

Whether it’s a regularity or an accident, the distance will show. But the coach of the Russian national team and Rostov has a lot of problems. But it will be easier for Dmitry Khokhlov to work. Talk about a possible resignation will stop, he will continue to prepare the team for the match with Lokomotiv in the RPL and CSKA in the Cup in a calm atmosphere.
