Krasnodar striker Eduard Spertsyan explained why he decided to play for the Armenian national team.
“I still support Russia and watch their games. When he was a child, he dreamed of playing for the Russian national team. It’s normal because I grew up there. I am grateful to the club for raising me. But then everything changed. Nobody expected me there, nobody called me. I made the decision myself. People ask me if I regret anything. I don’t regret it one bit. I play for my historical homeland,” Spertsyan said on Nobel Arustamyan’s YouTube channel.
Let’s add that Spertsyan graduated from Krasnodar. In total, the 23-year-old forward played 84 games with the Bulls first team, scoring 26 goals and providing 20 assists.
Spertsyan made his debut with the Armenian national team in March 2021. The forward has played 19 games and scored three goals.
