Super series “Krasnodar” was interrupted. And who in the RPL has a record for the number of wins at the start?

Nobody won more than eight. But even with four wins to start, some became champions.

Krasnodar drew with Lokomotiv and ended an incredible run. The team already had four wins at the start of the season. Not the most frequent case in the modern history of Russian championships. But it is by no means a guarantee that by the end of the season the “bulls” will win at least some kind of trophy for the first time in history.

But for now, we fixed it: Krasnodar defeated Dynamo, Sochi, Pari NN, Orenburg at the start. In addition to a draw with Lokomotiv. At the moment, the team shares first place with Ural.

Only two teams had four wins in a row at the start of the 21st century. And both are champions. First, Lokomotiv started this way in the 2017/2018 season – they took three points from Arsenal, CSKA, Anji and SKA-Khabarovsk. Plus – Zenit in the 2020/2021 season – Rotor, Rostov, CSKA and Tambov were defeated.

It is interesting that five victories at the start (“Krasnodar” did not have enough seconds for this) had only been won by one team before. There were cases with slightly larger and smaller figures. But Zenit won exactly five times at the beginning of the 2018/2019 season, the first time under Sergei Semak. Yes, the rivals at first were not outstanding: Yenisei, Arsenal, Rubin, Ural and Ufa. In this regard, the current Krasnodar is getting more serious. In the sixth round, Peter stumbled and played out a goalless draw with Spartak, a rare story in recent years. But the main thing: at the end of the season, they lifted the first cup of the next five.

Ural shares first place with Krasnodar thanks to the win over Baltika:

“Ural” is already in the first place! And now what should Baltika do with Ignashevich?

Six victories in a row were not for any team in the 21st century. But seven happened: at Rubin in 2008 and CSKA in the 2015/2016 season. Naturally, both teams won those seasons. Kazan’s winning streak ended at Spartak in the eighth round. Berdyev’s team lost loudly 0:3. CSKA Slutsky played a draw with Zenit, and for the first time lost already in the 15th round. That season they were unstoppable.

But the absolute record for the number of victories in a row belongs to Zenit. We remember the 2014/2015 season, the last under the command of Villas-Boas. Then Peter scored 12 goals in the first two rounds: four against Arsenal, eight against Torpedo. Also, more modest victories, but even over Dynamo and Loko. And in the eighth round they beat Rostov with a score of 5:0. In principle, even then it was possible to hang gold around your neck, because the gap reached six points. But this happened a little later. However, it was not possible to pass a longer segment without losing points. Again, Spartak did not allow it – in the 9th round.

One way or another, Krasnodar, despite the defeat, is definitely still a contender for the championship. There are clear precedents for this.
