At the time of the tragedy, the mutagen spilled into the sewers and spawned many mutants, including turtles and Splinter’s master. But our heroes lived underground and were afraid of everything, and the Superfly was gathering an army of mutants and thinking of revenge.

The theme of acceptance became the heart of the cartoon. According to the plot, Splinter and Superfly came out of the lair and showed themselves to people, but they only received kicks and angry screams. After such an experience, the rat closed down and did not allow the turtles to go out into the outside world, and the fly became angry with humanity.
However, the turtles met the good April and found a new path. If they do something heroic, surely everyone will love them. That’s why the heroes set out on the quest for Superfly.
The plot is simple – this is not the “Network of Universes”, but it is interesting to follow it. However, the authors skillfully convey the obvious, but such an unbearable truth:
When you meet someone who is not like you, do not look at the differences, look for what unites you.
The thought presents itself beautifully. For example, half the characters in the movie dream of going out, making new friends, and having a normal life. With what longing they look at the cheerful schoolchildren! And then the turtles meet Superfly’s gang and find happiness for a moment!

The images of the new turtles have been modernized. Now they’re Avengers fans, learning to drive in Forza Horizon, twerking, and shooting lame training videos. There is not a drop of seriousness in them: even Raf jokes and laughs a lot.
Only the roles remained the same.
Leo continues to be a leader who respects the rules and regulations. Raf is a daredevil who mindlessly rushes into a fight. Don is a gadget specialist. Mickey is the main source of humor.

What is the value of the back story? Once, April hosted a school show, but during the broadcast she threw up. Everyone has been laughing at the heroine ever since, and catching the villain is their chance to end the bullying. At best it’s all uninteresting and cliché, at worst it’s just disgusting.

Also in the cartoon appeared other cult heroes. For example, Bebop and Rocksteady are now members of Superfly’s gang. By the way, in the original they speak with the voices of John Cena and Seth Rogen, and these are not the only stars in voice acting.

For Mutant Mayhem, an unusual visual style was chosen, reminiscent of a mixture of plasticine and paints. In some places, the result is rough and the detail is not impressive. But thanks to the effects, bright colors and a sense of style, you look at the screen with delight.
Add to this a memorable action. Take at least one episode where the authors show five battles at the same time. The turtles run across the room and beat the villains beautifully, and the background, costumes, and environment are constantly changing. Looks great!
The less significant episodes are also catchy. Thanks to the background music and editing, it is interesting to follow even the banal theft of food from the store.

The new “Turtles” cannot be called outstanding cartoons. There are a lot of inappropriate jokes, the pictures of the turtles are revealed superficially, April is terrible. But watching Mutant Mayhem is still fun! The secret is in an unusual image, great action and a light atmosphere. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will regret watching it.
