Last year in the playoffs we witnessed an almost historic event! The Boston Celtics lost 0-3 to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals and heroically won three games in a row, bringing the series to a decisive point. No team in NBA history has won again after going 0-3 in the playoffs. Unfortunately, Jayson Tatum’s sprained ankle early in Game 7 and the Celtics’ eventual loss didn’t give us a historic achievement.
In the decades-long history of the playoffs, only four teams have reached Game 7 and lost with an 0-3 record. These were the New York Knicks in the 1951 NBA Finals with the Rochester Royals (now Sacramento Kings), the Denver Nuggets in the 1994 second round with the Utah Jazz, the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2003 first round with the Dallas Mavericks. But none of those teams, including Boston last season, managed to advance further.

There have been 154 NBA playoff series in which a team finished 3-0. No one in league history has managed to bounce back after three straight losses. The four teams described above were one step away from changing the course of history, but for now the statistics are inexorable.
The Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves in an unenviable position. The teams lose in the East and West finals, respectively, with a score of 0-3. “Boston” and “Dallas” completely destroy their opponents. But maybe the “pacers” and “wolves” will have the opportunity to rewrite history before our eyes? Of course, it is premature to talk about this. Furthermore, the game is not particularly impressive for some or others. Both the Celts and the Ramblers demonstrate an excellent level of interaction on the court and are practically guaranteed to participate in the most important series of the season.

But don’t be discouraged: the time will come when someone takes the series from 0-3, giving us an unforgettable experience. For now we just have to enjoy the teams’ performance in the playoffs. In fact, the current postseason has already presented many interesting things: the elimination of the champion (Denver Nuggets), the rise of Minnesota led by Anthony Edwards, who is increasingly beginning to be compared to the legendary Michael Jordan, the entry of Indiana in the Eastern finals, and also the incredible Dallas with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
It seems that we will not be able to avoid the Boston-Dallas final. But what the hell isn’t it? Maybe Minnesota or Indiana will pull off a miracle? The “wolves” are at least capable of achieving this feat: the team has a great squad, with excellent players in all positions. Indiana, with an injured Tyrese Haliburton in a series with an opponent as formidable as Boston, will be much more difficult to achieve something that no one else in the NBA has ever accomplished.
