The home team’s midfielder scored a nice goal and then converted from the penalty spot.

The Broke Boys made their debut in professional football in the last round of the Russian Cup. The reigning Media League champions beat Kvant from Obninsk in the 1/256 final (1-1, 4-2 p.). And ahead of Vitaly Dyakov’s team was the trip to Dzerzhinsk, to Khimik. Did the Brooks manage to repeat the achievement of Amkala and reach the third round of the Cup?

The starting line-up of the Broke Boys was easy to guess. The only problem is the absence due to injury of Alisher Rakhimov, one of the team’s leaders and the author of the best goal of the fifth season of the Media League. Among the footballers known to the general public, the Brooks started: Anton Sosnin (ex-Dynamo Moscow), Pavel Yakovlev (ex-Spartak) and Georgy Chelidze (ex-Lokomotiv). And the team is led by the winner of the Russian Cup in Rostov, Vitaly Dyakov.

How Amkal beat their former Premier League club:

“Amkal” once again went further in the Russian Cup! “Strangled” a team from the Second League on its own field

Both clubs started the match with a lot of energy. But Khimik looked better in attack. The team created a couple of chances that left the fans of the Broke Boys with their hands on their hearts. And the mood was ruined already in the seventh minute by Khimik midfielder Alexey Sergienko. The 25-year-old footballer took advantage of the rebound and fired a cannon shot into Nikolai Zirikov’s goal. 1:0 – and Sergienko sent mocking gestures towards the Brooks stands.

And at the end of the half, the guests looked more active. “Brookie” actively advanced, while “Khimik” periodically resorted to buying time. During the break, the president of Broke Boys, Dmitry Egorov, expressed his dissatisfaction on his Telegram channel with the fact that the referee did not react in any way to the actions of goalkeeper Nikita Shulkin. According to the coach of Brooks, the Khimik goalkeeper took a long time to put the ball into play. And one can quite agree with his words.

And in attack, the Brooks created two big chances. First, Ilya Davydov struck from distance at Khimik’s goal, but Shulkin saved the shot. Maxim Mairovich was the first to shoot, but the home keeper blocked the ball. And in the 39th minute, Broke Boys striker Ilya Mazurov narrowly missed the top nine after shooting from the box.

The visitors continued to press in the second half. The Brook Boys could not do anything else. “Khimik” did not force the attack, although it still created a chance. Midfielder Dmitry Merenchukov headed the cross, but missed from an advantageous position. And then the difficult moments began for the Dzerzhinsk Club. The main hero of the finale was Khimik goalkeeper Shulkin. First, he almost scored a goal by giving a bad pass to his defender. Pavel Yakovlev intercepted the ball, but let it go too far.

However, Shulkin was notable only on the positive side. In the 83rd minute, the ball hit the hand of goal scorer Alexey Sergienko in the Khimik penalty area. Referee Evgeniy Rubtsov awarded a penalty and Brooks captain Ilya Davydov stepped up to take it. But Shulkin reflected a powerful blow and then saved the team with the final touch! Hero.

Are the Brookses upset? Of course not. And we continued our assault. Shulkin scored again, tipping Mairovich’s long-range shot under the crossbar. It turned out aesthetically and beautifully.

The Broke Boys’ final push came to nothing. The referee also added only four minutes to the second half (a strange decision). Mediafootball ended up losing to another team in the Cup. Earlier, 2DROTS had dropped out of the draw, losing to Spartak Kostroma. “Amkal” will have to bear the blame for the entire Media League.

2DROTS lost to BrokeBoys in the Media League finals and have now disappointingly been eliminated from the Cup:

The first media club was eliminated from the Cup. Everything was decided by the most ridiculous “import” of the ex-Spartak player
