Rodina Media did not repeat Amkal’s path: three failed moments and zero fatalities.
Rodina Media entered the Russian Cup after winning the Media Football League. The club made its debut in professional football in the final match 1/256 against Dynamo Vologda. The blue and whites began the new season with two victories in the Second League, while Rodina Media had the ambition to repeat Amkal’s path and go further.
Dynamo returned to professional football last year. Before this, the Vologda club either lived in the LFC for 10 years or did not play anywhere. Dynamo were the relative favorites in the match, even though another amateur club, Amkal, advanced further in the Cup yesterday, beating Znamya. Although Rodina Media has several interesting players: goalkeeper Maxim Shvagirev (played for Torpedo Armavir and Chernomorets), defenders Vladimir Olenchenko, Valery Pustovit and Artyom Ponikarov, midfielder Yegor Shlenkin, as well as forwards Maxim Pichugin and Artur Gazdanov. All of them were raised in or played for professional clubs. And the main star is midfielder Dmitry Tarasov (ex-Lokomotiv and the Russian national team). Note that the media club is led by Andrei Karyaka, who has played for Benfica, Krylya Sovetov, Saturn and the national team.

Rodina Media had a good start and did not show weakness against Dynamo. However, neither team created chances until the 20th minute. Later, a club from Vologda became actively involved. In the 20th minute, the first half-moment happened: Dynamo midfielder Anton Betyuzhnov shot from distance, but Shvagirev saved the ball. Two minutes after service, Ivan Kostylev hit a dangerous header, but again the Rodina Media keeper saved. The media club, for its part, did not carry out dangerous attacks. But Dynamo managed to score after 30 minutes. The Vologda team attacked on the right flank, followed by a pass into the support zone of Rodina Media, where only midfielder Maksim Meshalkin remained. The Dynamo player launched a well-aimed shot into the left corner that opened the scoring. The guests looked better not only in the game, but also physically. Rodina Media did not create a single moment of danger in 45 minutes. The class difference was felt, in contrast to the match between Amkala and Znamya.
Rodina Media’s main star Dmitry Tarasov did not go into the second half. The hosts also almost “brought” the second goal, but Dynamo did not take advantage of the mistake. But in the 50th minute, the blue and whites were still standing out. After a cross from the right wing, defender Ruslan Bashirov finished off with a header. And it was already difficult to imagine that Rodina Media would win again.
Even after the second goal, Dynamo attacked more actively and took possession of the ball more often. In the second half, Rodina Media once again did not create killer chances. Weak match made by the MFL champion. Is it a reconfiguration or a simple class difference? In the end, a third goal followed. After the counterattack, Artur Tumanyan sent the ball into the Rodina Media goal.
An interesting episode happened at the end. Alexander Tarasov (performer T-Killah), president of Rodina Media, appeared on the field. A piece of media football in the Russian Cup! But in football, there is only one conclusion: Dynamo completely controlled the match and deserved to win with a score of 3:0. And the MFL champion is going to rest. Next year they will compete for a new opportunity to participate in the Russian Cup.
