A new season of figure skating competitions has begun in Russia. Short test skating programs were held in Moscow. Most of the attention was focused, as always, on the Russian girls performing in single skating.
The season was opened by 16-year-old Anastasia Zinina. The very young figure skater chose a song from the not-so-children’s Russian television series “Kept Women.” The trip was beautiful and safe, but without surprises. However, stability is a sign of dominance.
The second at the box office was Sofia Muravyova, considered one of the main talents of Evgeni Plushenko’s “Plyushchenko’s Angels” school. Muravyova skated not without errors. But the public still reacted with due warmth to the promising star. She performed under Eternal Eclipse – Horizon of Memories.

Then the long-awaited Maya Khromykh appeared on the ice. Figure skating fans already missed this athlete’s skating. She missed last season due to injury. But on the ice she once again demonstrated her skills like it was nothing. She chose the composition Ashes by Celine Dion.
Most attention was focused on the next skater. Kamila Valieva appeared on the ice. An athlete who could not handle the pressure and responsibility of the Olympic Games. An athlete who is still going through all these doping procedures. Her case is not yet completely closed. But she still finds the strength to argue and continue to delight the public with new masterpieces.

This time we saw a completely different Valieva. She was no longer a young and carefree girl, but a stronger girl. In her program the words were read: “I’m not like that anymore.” With this number she amazed both the guests of honor and the most regular fans. The Queen has returned to her place. Camila performed with the soundtrack “I see red Everyone is a bandit” from the melodrama “365 days”.
Then Adelia Petrosyan put on a real show on the ice. Her joyous number for Michael Jackson will be remembered for a long time. That ease of movement and self-confidence are attractive.
Sofia Akatieva also returned after injury, performing “Masquerade” by Aram Khachaturian. This skater performed without particularly difficult elements, being afraid. She later claimed that she was still recovering.
An intense program was presented by Alina Gorbacheva, who recently also experienced a major scandal with her disappearance. But this situation only seemed to strengthen the athlete. Fans really liked his oriental number.

An old friend, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, hosted the program “Sky I”. What caught the most attention was the figure skater’s unusual dress and how she herself was inspired by this number. Tuktamysheva has clearly reached a new artistic level.

Veronica Zhilina made her debut in these competitions. She showed her performance without unnecessary risks, with safe and clean skating. And Ksenia Sinitsyna closed the program in a bright blue dress. She also performed her program with confidence.
The girls experienced no new shocks in their short programs. And it shouldn’t have been like that. These are just control shows and the girls are just entering the season. Some people need more time to prepare, others less. One thing is clear: the composition of the participants is combative. Nobody will have it easy in this year’s competition.
