For Vetle Sosta Christiansen it was very important to beat the Swede.
On Sunday, March 3, in Holmenkollen they shared the “Little Crystal Globe” in the mixed disciplines classification. The penultimate race of the season, in which men and women are on the track at the same time, was the supermix. Or, if it’s the old fashioned way, a single mixed relay.
There were several interesting stories in the race. Just look at the Finnish couple’s gorgeous trailer. Suvi Minkkinen and Otto Invenius led the race after the third stage, but in the end they fell to third place, which is also great, since even the most powerful French pair (Jeanmonnot and Jacquelin) fell behind. However, the main intrigue was the fight between Sweden and Norway for first place, which continued throughout the entire distance.
Sweden’s Anna Magnusson completed her stages a little better than Juni Arnekleive. Yes, the gap has always been small, but the fact itself is important!
But when the men took over, Vetle Sosta Christiansen looked brighter than his main rival, Sebastian Samuelsson. Sebby resisted as best he could, but in the end he received a nice blow from which he could no longer recover. He arrived first at the last shooting stage, worked there a little faster than Christiansen and even tried to create a small gap on the last lap. Everything went well: Samuelsson was the first to reach the finish line and Christiansen stayed some distance away. But the Norwegian’s skis rolled better and he had more strength left, so he seemed to have easily overtaken the Swede.

The judges studied the final photo and gave the victory to Christiansen. This was undoubtedly important for the Norwegian, given the background of his relationship with the Swede.
It was Vetle Shosta who mocked Sebastian on February 14 by sending him flowers and a few days later deprived Norway of gold in the almost won relay. Then it was Samuelsson who played a minute apart, which gave him a reason to joke about Vetle.
