The IIHF can deduct points from CSKA and impose a fine for violating the terms of Fedotov’s suspension
The International Ice Hockey Federation can deduct points from CSKA in the KHL in case of violation of the conditions of suspension of goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov, reports RIA Novosti Sport.
Previously, the IIHF suspended Fedotov from playing domestically and internationally for four months due to his contract situation with Philadelphia. The disqualification of the goalkeeper takes effect on September 1. CSKA questions this decision of the International Federation and is going to declare Fedotov in the squad for the opening match of the new KHL season against Ak Bars.
According to the source, if Fedotov participates in KHL matches during the suspension period, the IIHF can deprive CSKA of points earned in the championship and fine the club 150,000 Swiss francs for each match in which the player hockey is advertised during the specified period.
In addition, the International Ice Hockey Federation may impose individual sanctions on the officials of the KHL and the FHR.
In addition, the IIHF can prohibit all KHL clubs from making international transfers, as was the case with CSKA. Another punishment could be a further disqualification of Fedotov for a longer period.
