In the 1/64 final of the Russian Cup, Ufa, which was at the bottom of the third division, went on the road against Ulyanovsk Volga. The match was not intended to have much emotion, which was reflected in the game: in the 90th minute the players failed to score. The goalless draw led to a penalty shootout, where the visiting goalkeeper got his moment of glory.
Oleg Baklov saved up to three penalties: he took the first shot from the left corner, the second from the right and the third hit the crossbar. The field players did not disappoint either: they scored two 11-meter shots and advanced to the 1/32 final.

At first glance, it may seem that a good goalkeeper’s performance in the post-match series is something ordinary. But what happens if the goalkeeper does this for two games? At the end of August, in the same Russian Cup, Baklov saved three shots in no less magnificent style. Then the rival of the Ufa Club turned out to be Nosta, and only defender Nikita Morgunov managed to score the goal, despite the fact that Oleg also guessed the direction of the ball there. It’s no surprise that fans voted Baklov the team’s best player last month.
Summing up, it turns out that out of 8 shots from the point, the goalkeeper reflected 6 shots and only missed one. Exceptional result!
Debut against Spartak
Oleg Baklov graduated from Syzran-2003 and currently lives in the amateur divisions. The goalkeeper played 63 games for the team and even played for the Krylia Sovetov youth team.
In 2017 he was tried in Rostov. The goalkeeper failed to impress Valery Karpin, but they decided to take the footballer to the Urals. Despite his reserve status, he and the team managed to reach the Russian Cup final in the 2018/2019 season. In that draw he participated in two games.

Baklov’s debut at the RPL level took place the following season. In the fall of 19, the goalkeeper was nominated for the match against Spartak Moscow. With the help of the goalkeeper, the Urals managed to create a small sensation and win 2:1.
— Baklov played effectively on interceptions and took the entire top. He deprived Spartak even of the desire to cross into our area. Therefore, they had to look for other ways to create danger,” goalkeeping coach Andrei Shpilev commented on Baklov’s debut.
After a good start, the goalkeeper had the opportunity to consolidate his success, however, in the matches against CSKA and Zenit, Baklov missed three goals each, but still managed to demonstrate his status as a “penalty taker” – he saved the shot. by Fyodor Chalov.

His glorious stay in the Urals was ruined by a knee injury suffered by the goalkeeper in the summer of 2020. Soon Baklov was loaned to KAMAZ, where the footballer suffered a new injury and was out for a year and a half. After returning to Yekaterinburg, the player did not have many opportunities to prove himself, but he managed to participate in the final of the Road of Regions: he started in the match against Krasnodar (1-2). In this sense, Oleg’s performance in the RPL ended: at the end of the contract he left for Ufa, with whom he occupies the penultimate place in FNL-2.
