The long-awaited Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally available: after almost three years of public testing in Early Access and around six years of general development. However, it is important to understand that the novelty is a complex and deep role-playing game, where there are hundreds of options for interacting with the world.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can die from anything, especially at the very beginning of the game, when you don’t understand what is happening and are just trying to understand what kind of game you have in front of you. That is why it is better to save constantly, almost every minute, so that there is always an opportunity to take a step back and come back at a more profitable time.
One of the features of BG3 is the aperture. You can go through many moments in dozens of ways – somewhere in the dialogue to deceive or bewitch, somewhere in an open battle, somewhere to throw a statue at enemies (and sometimes yourself, because virtual cubes were going against the player), somewhere to spill oil and set it on fire (accidentally burning half of your heroes), and the like. It is better to constantly experiment, but have the opportunity to return, than to regret your decisions or even destroy everyone, losing several hours of gameplay.
You can save even in the middle of battle, so it’s better to play it safe.
Don’t try to understand everything at once.
If you are not familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, then do not try to immediately dive in to try to understand absolutely everything. The balance of power, what happens in the world, the races and their backgrounds, all the features of the game. Take it easy with Baldur’s Gate 3 – yes, it’s part of a great brand, but it won’t get you anywhere. Rather, even vice versa.

follow your partners
There will always be a few more characters under your control – don’t spread out, but try to stay close enough to each other. You can scatter either by chance (the heroes could just be left behind somewhere, and you didn’t pay attention) or on purpose.
Sometimes it is very important to separate, because some heroes have unique abilities that can help them overcome obstacles in a creative way. At such times, you need to carefully leave the rest of the characters so that they do not accidentally get into trouble.
Constantly experiment
Baldur’s Gate 3 not only allows you to be creative with your goals, but encourages it as much as possible. If you were able to come up with some unusual solution to the problem, be it a fight or penetration into the territory, then it is highly likely that this can really be implemented; be sure to test everything.
The same applies to classes and pumping – try something new, because even with an unsuccessful choice, you can redistribute skills at any time for a modest fee.

Look for “Inspiration”
A very important parameter in Baldur’s Gate 3 has become “Inspiration” (not to be confused with “Approval”). Allows you to reroll a virtual die when you fail a skill check. You can increase “Inspiration” when the main character does something (in dialogue or action) that somehow comes into contact with the allies’ faith or past.
For example, street children are inspired when you stand up for the poor and downtrodden, while nobles are content with arrogant and snobbish choices.

Try to communicate with your allies more often, both while traveling the world and in your own camp. Heroes can reveal themselves from unexpected sides and tell something interesting; all this will help during the passage of BG3. Before sleeping in the camp, be sure to talk to your friends, this will also help to avoid situations where your actions may go against the faith of your companions.

look at your surroundings
The creators of Baldur’s Gate 3 have eaten the dog in the game’s interaction with the world: always pay attention to the environment. Is the enemy on the ledge? Chuck it. Is there a group of opponents nearby? Spray them with water or oil, and then strike them with lightning or set them on fire. Take chairs, furniture and rocks, they can also be used to your advantage. Build barricades, shoot, cheat.

Charisma is mightier than the sword.
The protagonist’s long tongue can not only open new paths, but also prevent many troubles. With a high level of Charisma or Charm, players can talk opponents out of drawing their pods and disperse in peace.

Read the descriptions of abilities and spells so you don’t accidentally find yourself in an awkward situation. Observe the status effects of both your heroes and your opponents, this can help to significantly change the situation in battle. Take absolutely everything you find and constantly look for corpses and chests. In battles, plan more often how to deal damage to several enemies at once; to do this, use cunning, spells, deception so that enemies often stay close to each other.
