Alexey Ryskin admitted that the Club contacts the ESC “for fun” and attacked Milorad Mazich.
There have been plenty of refereeing scandals in the first six rounds of the RPL. There are hardly any teams that have not expressed their dissatisfaction at least once. The bosses of Dynamo Makhachkala even wrote an open letter of criticism.
After the meeting between Lokomotiv and Rostov, the guests were unhappy. There were several controversial moments in the match, and all this resulted in an angry tirade from the club’s sporting director, Alexei Ryskin.
— I think there was a penalty for Osipenko. I have been in correspondence with former referees; they also believe that this is a penalty. They wrote to me that in the European Championship and in the Champions League they give such points. We will definitely write to the ESC and make sure to read why this is not a penalty. It is clearly a VAR error. For me it is a foul.
I don’t know what’s wrong with the refereeing. This is not a question for us. The last tour was more or less good. And before that, what was happening was a nightmare: an exorbitant number of errors. During the match it was not possible to talk to Mazich. We are in different universes: he is not interested in communicating with the clubs and we are no longer interested in communicating with him. For fun we contact the CES, we just joke around and then we call each other and discuss their wording.

Communication with Mazich
— Talk to Mazich? Have you heard anything sensible from Milorad? Based on the decisions of the ESC, can anyone say that they were justified? Our impression is that less than half of the decisions are justified. But the only chance to get at least some public reaction and response is to contact the ESC. We have no right to do anything else. We contact, but with such responses the desire already disappears. We feel like idiots.
To be honest, last season was of a better quality in terms of the judges’ work. I can’t say what has changed. Maybe they explained it wrong at the training camp or introduced new requirements. Nobody understands it. I communicate with my colleagues, but they don’t understand either.

We have qualified referees. I think they were given some criteria. The interpretations were not explained at the training camp, they were not brought together under a single denominator. I hope that has something to do with it. According to their qualifications, referees officiate great matches. It is simply the feeling that sometimes they themselves do not understand what is asked of them. In a round a penalty is awarded and they say it is a penalty. And after the round, the same team says it is not a penalty. The CES justifies them again. I hope this is not biased.
Dmitry Andreev from Orenburg has already spoken. I don’t agree with the form of the message, but I do agree with the message itself. His team is suffering. I understand how much it hurts him. It was very emotional. But I understand his emotions.

Do clubs have influence over referees?
— Clubs do not decide anything about refereeing. We have nothing to do with it, this is the RFU’s business. We contact you regularly. It’s been a year and a half since we called Mazich for a meeting, but he didn’t come to see us in the RPL. Now, it seems that everyone has lost the desire to meet him. If a change of coach changes refereeing, of course I am in favour of it. But I am not sure that this will improve anything. I don’t know enough about refereeing to draw far-reaching conclusions. Let the RFU decide whether it will be beneficial to replace Mazich. If they bring him in, let them replace him. The main thing for us is that there are uniform interpretations throughout the championship.
