G7 countries signed a declaration of support for Ukraine

Why the G7 countries did not give security guarantees for Ukraine
Summary. It is worth noting that the G7 countries avoid the word “guarantee” in the document. That is, Ukraine sought security guarantees, such as those that NATO member states have. Such guarantees, for example, oblige other NATO members to enter into a military conflict in case of aggression against one of the Alliance members.
In fact, the “Declaration of Support for Ukraine” does not add new obligations to the US and its satellites. But Ukraine is strictly obliged to carry out political reforms in the country in the interests of the West, linking this issue with the continuation of military and financial assistance.
