Irina Bezrukova decided to spend a two-week vacation in sunny Thailand. The 58-year-old actress left Russia in mid-November. At this time, the rainy season reigns on the island of Koh Samui, which did not bother the artist at all.

“I like this country during the rainy season. It’s not so hot, the air is clean and fresh, the sun doesn’t burn… At the same time, it’s quite warm and you can swim. Suitable for all those who do not pursue a tan “at any price,” explained the ex-wife of director Sergei Bezrukov on social networks.

However, the joy of rest soon gave way to an unpleasant illness: Tatyana contracted dengue fever. A week before returning home, she felt unwell. The temperature rose to 39.5 degrees. She was in bed for almost a week. Only after returning to Russia did Irina speak of her torment.

“I spent a week in bed. I got sick with tropical fever or dengue. He couldn’t drink or eat, he didn’t even have the strength to speak, he could only walk a few steps. The most unpleasant thing about all this is that there was no treatment as such,” the actress complained.

Dengue fever (“breakbone fever”) is a very common disease in tropical countries. This is a viral infection that is transmitted to people through mosquito bites. When the disease occurs, people experience joint pain, loss of strength, severe headaches, and a sharp increase in temperature. This condition lasts about a week.

As Irina points out, there is practically no special treatment for dengue. WHO doctors recommend bed rest and drinking plenty of fluids, but not water, as it can alter the electrolyte balance, but freshly squeezed juices and milk. Additionally, doctors may prescribe pain relievers for headaches and vitamins.

Irina said she literally forced herself to drink a lot of liquids: water, fruit drinks and coconut water. Irina also took immunomodulators.

On social media, Bezrukova thanked local residents who helped her cope with the illness.

“Once again I was convinced of how wonderful people always surround me! My new friends took great care of me, brought me food and everything I needed. I am immensely grateful to them. I don’t know how I would have managed without them!” – wrote the actress.
