According to police, the girl’s body was found in the Irtysh near the boat station in the area of Ostrovskaya Street, 3.
“Search activities have been stopped,” the Russian Interior Ministry for the Omsk region said. “We express our gratitude to the volunteers and to all those who participated in the search for the minor.”
Recall that 15-year-old Evangelina Aleshkina came to Omsk with her parents and two younger sisters from Moscow to visit relatives. They stayed for several days at the Nika Hotel, located near a wooded area. On July 22, a few hours before flying to Moscow, Evangelina went for a walk in the park. And soon she stopped communicating – her phone turned off.
For four days, law enforcement officers and volunteers searched for the missing girl. Yesterday, one of the dogs detected the scent and led the police to the river, and divers joined the search. A criminal case has been opened for the disappearance of the child and the investigation is ongoing.
