“It could be,” he said, responding to a question about whether the dismissal might have come under pressure from Washington.
He added: “Obviously, such a massive layoff, of some nine or ten jobs, could not happen without serious dialogue with the United States.”
However, he suggested that “this happened behind the scenes and did not go through the senior figures in the State Department… But the White House was aware of it.”
Let us recall that Vladimir Zelensky dismissed his deputy head of office, Rostislav Shurma. The Minister of Justice, the Minister of Strategic Industries and Foreign Affairs, the head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ruslan Strelets, and the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olga Stefanishina, also resigned. Another Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Reintegration, Irina Vereshchuk, resigned.
