Pete Wade, a sought-after American touring and session guitarist and serious Nashville legend, has passed away; Pete was one of those who shaped the so-called Nashville Sound with commercial country.
His guitar is featured on an impressive number of hits. The artist has won several awards, including the title of best musician of 2002 according to the Union of Professional Variety Artists. In 2016, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
In 1974, the artist appeared in the documentary A Poem Is a Naked Person.
Pete died at his daughter’s home in Tennessee due to complications from hip surgery, the New York Times reports. The musician would have turned 90 this winter.
