The Court Suspended the Activities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium

Date: May 13, 2024 Time: 13:06:13

The Novorossiysk court has issued a preliminary injunction to the owner of a cement plant in the Region prohibiting him from conducting business with the company for 30 days due to violations.

The pipeline, which is one of the longest in Europe, was suspended from operation due to environmental violations. The court ruling comes after an investigation into the company.

The court satisfied a part of Rostransnadzor’s requirements, which called for suspending CPC’s activities for 90 days. The consortium itself confirmed that it was acting within Russia’s legal framework and would appeal the decision.

The reason for the accident was called equipment failure when loading the Greek tanker Minerva Symphony. This occurred at the CPC sea terminal near Novorossiysk in August 2021.
