The project to end Sokol’s parliamentary powers was presented on the basis of his own statement. The State Duma was asked to consider this project in a plenary session on September 19.
Sergei Sokol, previously registered as a candidate in the elections for the presidency of Khakassia, was hospitalized in Moscow on September 1 in serious condition. A day later he announced that he had decided not to participate in the election campaign for health reasons. However, he remained the leader of the party’s list in the Supreme Council elections in the same region, in which United Russia won more than 36 percent of the vote. In the State Duma he holds the position of deputy chairman of the economic policy committee.
On the same day, September 19, the State Duma is asked to consider another personnel issue – the resignation of deputy Igor Kastyukevich, secretary of the United Russia branch in the Kherson region. In the State Duma he is the first deputy chairman of the youth policy committee.
The Duma committee responsible for monitoring the reliability of information on deputies’ income approved the deputies’ statements.
