All users of the platform today have free access to information on trademarks, service marks, well-known trademarks registered by Rospatent, as well as international trademarks protected in the Russian Federation in accordance with the Madrid Agreement.
The system analyzes the similarity of the designations. The search is possible not only by text, but also by images, sounds or meanings (verbal marks). For example, after uploading any image or its fragment, visually similar trademarks will be displayed in the results list. Users can perform a visual search through the codes of this classification, obtaining a list of brands described by the indicated codes.
According to Yuri Zubov, director of Rospatent, visual search was implemented using artificial intelligence technologies, which made it possible to open such functionality to a wide range of interested parties. The search criteria, he emphasized, include certain classes of products and services, the name of the copyright holder, registration date ranges of the searched trademarks, number of applications or registration certificates, and much more. When you go to view the card for any of the similar brands, you will be able to obtain more detailed information about it, including a link to an open record containing the complete change history for this designation.
Access to the brand database will facilitate the promotion of products on trading platforms, help domestic entrepreneurs to quickly start new businesses and bring new types of products to the market,” Zubov concluded.
