Previously, the School of Literary Criticism was held in Yasnaya Polyana four times. Now they dared to experiment: they will house the School of Film Critics. It will be possible to learn how to write meaningful reviews of movies and series from October 19 to 23 of this year (yes, in just five days). And it will be free. In addition, they will pay for travel, accommodation and meals. But to be able to enter this Hogwarts of film criticism, you will have to pass a selection: there will only be 21 “students” at the school.
All participants must be over 18 years of age. To enter the contest, they must submit an application (see link below). Answer the question “Why do you think it is important to participate in the school of film criticism?” And attach some samples of your film criticism texts. And also write and submit a short review of the film by the Taviani brothers “And the light shines in the dark” (1990), based on the story of Leo Tolstoy “Father Sergius”.
Practical work at the School will be conducted by Egor Moskvitin (film critic, Rules of Life columnist, author of many major Russian publications, programming director of several film festivals at once), Nikita Kartsev (chief editor of the Art of Cinema magazine) , Ivan Kudryavtsev (film journalist, author and presenter of the Cinema Industry program, chairman of the MIFF selection committee), Vsevolod Korshunov (screenwriter, editor, film critic, curator of Film History courses, Contemporary Cinema and Practical Film Criticism at the Moscow Film School, VGIK Associate Professor), Vyacheslav Marusenkov (film writer, dean of the VGIK Faculty of Scriptwriting and Film Studies).
