A seven-year-old boy died in a fire in a five-storey building in Yaroslavl – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Rescuers received reports of a fire in an apartment building on Avtozavodskaya Street on Saturday evening. Six teams and 23 firefighters were required to extinguish the fire in the five-storey building.

According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Yaroslavl region, it took more than two hours to extinguish the fire. As a result of the fire, furniture and decorative elements were destroyed on an area of ​​45 square meters, and the walls and ceiling on an area of ​​100 square meters on the upper floors of the five-story building were covered in smoke. The fire broke out on the fourth floor, but the spread of smoke had tragic consequences on the fifth.

Firefighters rescued three people from the fire: a man, a woman and a young man. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save the seven-year-old boy from the fifth floor. During the fire, there was a lot of smoke in his apartment.

The investigation into his death is being conducted by the regional department of the Investigative Committee. According to the department, investigators and forensic scientists were working at the scene. The full circumstances of the incident are being established.
