Recall that the incident occurred on the evening of August 25 in the Zhytomyr region.
“During a combat mission, two L-39 combat trainers collided in the sky near Zhytomyr. Three Air Force pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed,” the ministry said in a statement.
The investigators will check the technical state of the aircraft and the preparation for the flight. The maximum penalty provided for in art. 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of flight rules or preparation for them” – imprisonment for 15 years.
Earlier, the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Oleshchuk noted that Russian aviation has overwhelming air superiority. According to him, the Ukrainian plane “does not have time to take off, because it is already in the enemy’s destruction zone.”
