It should be noted that in addition to the annual events, more than 300 events are planned in the region by May 9. The most important of these will be the Astrakhan Local History Readings, the International Literary Festival for Children and Youth, the premieres of military-themed plays and concert programs. Representatives of local public organizations, national and youth associations took part in the development of the plan.
“During the Victory Day celebrations, we will traditionally implement a project to organize open-air concerts “Frontline Brigades” together with the city administration,” said First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Astrakhan region Larisa Vasilyeva.
Igor Babushkin stressed that it is necessary to intensify the work on holding patriotic events with the participation of young people in order to reach the maximum number of schoolchildren and students.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the improvement of areas near monuments and memorials. There are 86 military graves, 275 obelisks and monuments in the Astrakhan region.
The governor ordered the installation of the stele “City of Labor Valor”, which will perpetuate the memory of the feat of our compatriots during the Great Patriotic War. After the decision of the President of Russia to assign this title to Astrakhan, residents chose a place on the site near the Central Stadium to place the memorial sign. Its opening is planned for next spring.
