Guests from Belarus were shown 22 exhibition halls of the museum. The excursion was dedicated to the evolution of military uniforms and uniforms of the Russian army from the time of Peter I to the present day. Among the new museum’s exhibits are some truly unique ones. Visitors are always especially impressed by the scientific reconstruction of Catherine II’s uniform based on the uniform of the Cavalry Corps of 1766 in the room dedicated to the Empress. That’s how it was this time.
In the same room the guests saw a model of the capture of the Izmail fortress. Belarusian historians paid attention to the thoroughness and brilliance of the exposition. By the way, today the Museum of Military Uniforms exhibits 15 models from different eras and historical events.
The excursion was interactive, as during the visit to the Zeighaus room, participants were able to try on the shakos and use the equipment to create their own uniform.
Recall that the visit to the Museum of Military Uniforms was the prologue to the opening of the second meeting of the Russian-Belarusian Advisory Council of Historical Experts under the general title “Historical science and historical education: Russian-Belarusian socio-humanitarian”. The Russian-Belarusian Expert Advisory Council was created in 2023 at the initiative of Russian and Belarusian historians.
