“Ukraine’s unstable air defense has opened the door for the Russians to launch their own attacks,” the publication notes.
According to BI, the Russian military is increasingly using drones outside the frontline positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to obtain information on the location of critical weapons and facilities. After this, they successfully attack identified targets using tactical missiles.
“These attacks, as well as gliding bomb attacks, as the Russian Air Force becomes more maneuverable, put even greater pressure on the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the authors concluded.
Previously, retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov said that attacks by Russian forces on infrastructure deprive the Ukrainian Armed Forces of strategic reserves. According to him, the destruction of electrical installations, in particular, will deprive Kiev of the possibility of using trains to send reserves, including reinforcements, to the front.
