The DM 5.0 is based on a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine with thermal efficiency increased to 46.06%. This, the company claims, is the best result in the world. This was followed by information about the lower fuel consumption in similar systems: only 2.9 liters of gasoline are needed per 100 km. And, of course, in this regard, the phenomenal power reserve is 2,100 km.
At the same time, at the presentation of the DM 5.0 they showed the fuel consumption measurements of the new Qin L and Seal 06, which were the first to receive the system: 2.26 and 2.11 liters, respectively. The total autonomy exceeded 2300 km.
The hybrid configuration allows for emission-free driving. In the case of sedans, the power reserve is 80 or 120 km, depending on the battery capacity.
Of course, a hybrid system is not just an internal combustion engine with record thermal efficiency, but an entire system of elements, from the controllers to the battery and its cooling system. Thus, the BYD battery, which uses the lithium iron phosphate type, has received a higher density: 115 Wh/kg. The weight of the element, by the way, is 2.2 kg. A second-generation battery cooling system has been used, which saves up to 34% of energy consumption and improves temperature uniformity in the sections by 45%.
The BYD Qin L and Seal 06 sedans enter the market at prices ranging from 100 to 140 thousand yuan.
