The deputy of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) in Congress, Cristina Valido, has informed the King that the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, already has his vote for an eventual investiture, while with the socialist Pedro Sánchez a series would have to be negotiated of conditions to grant it, beginning with fulfilling promises pending from the last debate on the General State Budget.
In statements in Congress after the hearing at the Palacio de la Zarzuela, Cristina Valido recalled that last week, when the Congress table was chosen, CC already obtained “clear support” from the PP for the 55 points of the so-called agenda Canaria, which includes transport bonuses, immigration issues and educational and hydraulic infrastructures, among other topics.
For this reason, the CC deputy supported the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, for the Presidency of Congress, although she was defeated by the socialist Francina Armengol, and now she maintains her support for Feijóo because she considers it proven that “the PP is committed” and that he opted for a Government without Vox, which were the two conditions that his formation placed.
Eventual investiture of Pedro Sánchez
However, in the case of an eventual investiture of Pedro Sánchez accounts for 2023.
As he has said, we are halfway through the year and the Sánchez government has not yet fulfilled its commitment to transfer more than 200 million for aid to La Palma, universities and freight transport. Therefore, the first thing I have to do, Sánchez, is to pay off that pending debt, and then commit to the Canarian agenda.
