The food firm Casa Tarradellas closed last year with a turnover of 1,161 million euros, which is 8.5% more than in 2021. This increase was based “on growth in foreign markets and the consolidation of Spain’s new products as well as traditional products. This was reported by the company in a statement sent this Tuesday and collected by Europa Press.
The company has explained that net profitability has been reduced due to the inflationary context, “significantly affecting the prices of raw materials as a whole and energy”. He added that Casa Tarradellas has assumed this increase in costs to avoid a rise in prices “and its corresponding impact” on the consumer.
Investment in R+D+i
In 2022, according to Servimedia, the volume of investment in R&D, technology, innovation and sustainability of Casa Tarradellas reached the figure of 32.6 million euros, reaffirming its commitment to continuous product improvement, compliance with the SDGs and their commitment to caring for their environment.
Regarding this year, the company highlights that during the first half of the year it has launched two new photovoltaic solar parks with an area of 53,000 square meters located in its production center at Espetec Casa Tarradellas, in Olost and in Gurb.
With these two solar projects, the food brand will have, by the end of 2023, a forecast of 200,000 square meters of installed solar surface, located on all the roofs and facades of its buildings and food centers. This data will mean a 55% increase in the installed solar surface in 2023 compared to the previous year.
Casa Tarradellas thus advances towards the horizon of energy self-consumption and the achievement of its objectives in terms of sustainability, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
