The festival’s sports program includes 11 main types: football, basketball, belt wrestling, kettlebell lifting, arm wrestling, judo, athletics, tug of war, extreme strength, sports programming and archery. The competition will take place in the same stadium where the inauguration took place.
The second direction of the festival is a rich and colorful cultural program. On September 16 at noon, the national farms opened on the central square of the regional capital, where visitors from the Stavropol region introduce visitors to the life, traditions and cuisine of the Caucasian peoples. Festival participants will present crafts, works of art and national dishes.
The plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District, Yuri Chaika, attended the opening of the Caucasus Games and participated in the opening.
“At the Caucasus Games, representatives of different nations will show the diversity of traditions and cultures that exist in our Russia. Our region hosts them for the second time. Athletes and creative teams from the regions of the North Caucasus and the Southern Federal Districts, and from Donbass they came to Stavropol”, – said the governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov.
Despite the rain that fell in Stavropol during the opening ceremony, hundreds of people with umbrellas and raincoats approached the stadium stands.
