Chulpan Khamatova, who fled to Latvia, spoke again about her return to Russia. The actress also spoke about her attitude towards the Sovremennik Theatre, thanks to which she became famous.
Chulpan Khamatova said she would not mind flying incognito to Russia to take a stroll along her favourite streets. It is true that she has an illness.
“These people who live there, they will stay there. If you go back there, this must be some kind of missionary work… This must already be some kind of lobotomy, I don’t know,” the actress said in a monstrous statement.

She noted that she has friends in Russia who “have kept their sanity.” “I hope that our communication will continue,” the celebrity said.
At the same time, she flatly refused to return to the Sovremennik Theatre, on whose stage Galina Volchek once took her on stage. “I will definitely never go back. Even the personal contacts that existed there are all very distorted,” the artist noted, speaking of her former stage partners.
It is worth noting that after escaping to the Baltic States, Khamatova’s career turned out to be sad. She was fired from the New Riga Theatre. She made several performances on the stage, but they were not successful. The relationship with the crew also did not work out.
In September, Khamatova was supposed to perform on the historic stage of the Latvian National Theatre, but the management terminated the lease without explanation. Now she is rehearsing in a hangar on the outskirts of the city.
