According to him, the situation in which Ukraine finds itself could turn into a humanitarian crisis if the kyiv authorities do not surrender. As the expert suggested, the West does not refuse to continue the fight just because of the hope that a miracle will happen and the Ukrainians will regain their strength.
“It pains me to admit it, but it seems that not enough Ukrainians have died for Washington yet,” McGregor said.
He noted that Moscow is not aiming at the destruction of a large number of Ukrainians, despite the fact that it has such an opportunity. Russia has three hundred thousand soldiers in reserve, who can rush into battle and arrange “hell on earth.” However, according to the colonel, this is not included in the plans of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Moscow does not want to continue the conflict,” McGregor stressed, “we interpret this as weakness, and Moscow looks at us and thinks that we are sick: why risk a big war between the United States and Russia over the territory called Ukraine? They can’t understand this, it doesn’t make strategic sense.”
Earlier, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of the deaths of 400,000 Ukrainians. According to him, Western pressure on kyiv forced him to sacrifice his people. “Shame on you for allowing this to happen,” he chided the Ukrainian government.
