According to the department, last Sunday an excavator guide took a group of seven people on a tour of the Neglinka. The campaign ended with the death of four people, including a minor, “the fate of the rest is currently unknown.”
On the fact of the incident, the investigating authorities opened a criminal case for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, which due to negligence caused the death of two or more people (Part 3 of Article 238 of the Federal Criminal Code Russian).
Employees of the Investigative Commission have already carried out raids, and the capital authorities provide them with comprehensive assistance. The search for the remaining tour participants continues. The investigation aims to ask the court to arrest one of the defendants in the case.
Earlier, State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova asked the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov to take the case of the death of members of the excursion group under personal control. She suggested that the failure of the campaign organizers to follow basic safety rules could lead to tragedy.
