Recall that senators previously asked the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, to allow kyiv to launch attacks on Russian territory. Subsequently, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was summoned to a meeting in the House of Representatives.
McCall, showing a map, explained that now the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot attack areas where Russia places artillery and missile systems used as part of the SVO.
The congressman asked the head of the State Department what he thought about it. But Blinken avoided answering, saying such decisions should be made by the Ukrainian side. McCaul interrupted the Secretary of State, emphasizing that it was not Congress that established the ban on such attacks and then called for its repeal.
“I am talking to them (the Ukrainians, editor’s note). They will not be able to achieve victory with the restrictions that you have imposed on them and I hope that they will change their political decision,” added the congressman.
