Kusturica also told in what circumstances he was injured. It turned out that the 68-year-old director fell down the stairs and broke a joint in his right leg. The filmmaker himself considers this very offensive. During his life he participated in more than 950 concerts, he is also fond of football and tennis, he has been to many matches. “It’s very ironic to break your leg on an ordinary ladder,” Kusturica quipped ruefully.
On March 3, the director was supposed to take part in the opening of the Spirit of Fire film festival. Recently, Emir Kusturica was appointed president of this festival. But due to injury, the director will miss the ceremony.
