Emmy organizers have decided to postpone the 75th ceremony. The news was expected amid strikes by actors and screenwriters in Hollywood. Variety reports it.
This marks the first time the ceremony has been postponed since 2001. Then, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Emmy award date was pushed to a later date. And after the outbreak of hostilities in Afghanistan, the ceremony was again moved to November.
The event was scheduled for September 18. A new date for the event has not yet been announced.
“Like the entire industry, we look forward to a fair and timely resolution for all parties in the current union negotiations. We continue to monitor the situation closely with our partners at Fox and will let you know if and when new information is available,” the organizers said in a statement.
