According to Alexander Shaprinsky, director of development of the Pragmatika dealer network, a huge demand for Lada Vesta NG was predicted even before this model entered the market. The main success factor is the lack of competitors in terms of price and quality: Chinese “classmates” are much more expensive than the domestic bestseller, the price difference is half a million or more.
“The second component of success is that dealers have cars of all trim levels in stock: there is no shortage, but there is a growing demand. Consumers see the new Lada Vesta on the roads of their cities, the popularity of the model is growing and sales are beginning to gain momentum. The most popular version at the moment – Vesta SW Cross”, – claims Alexander Shaprinsky.
But Evgeny Zhitnukhin, head of the Fresh auto market dealership, believes that the great demand for Lada Vesta NG is due to the fact that the novelty is presented in a wide variety of bodies: sedan, station wagon, cross-sedan and cross. -van. Also, consumers have the opportunity to choose the amount of engine power – 90 hp. and 106 hp – and the sales of cars with different powers are now more or less at the same level.
At the same time, according to the expert, so far most of the customers of the distribution center are buying the basic Comfort version, which, despite the affordable price (1 million 239 thousand 900 rubles for the version with a 90-horsepower engine ), is equipped with some premium options, for example, LED optics and a button to start the engine. Perhaps the increased demand for this particular configuration is explained not only by the favorable cost, but also by the temporary absence of other variations.
Meanwhile, AvtoVAZ continues to increase the pace of production of Lada Vesta. According to the manufacturer, in June 5.7 thousand such cars were produced against 6.3 thousand copies of Lada Granta. Thus, the flagship model has a chance to catch up with “state employees” in terms of sales, which today is a bestseller in the Russian car market.
It is indicative that last week Lada Vesta rose to second place in the sales rating, according to the data of JSC “PPK”.
At the same time, Vesta has more and more Chinese competitors entering our market: Kaiyi E5, Changan Alsvin, BAIC U5 Plus, etc.
As Alexander Shaprinsky predicts, Lada Vesta will occupy a leading position in more than a million cities and large regional centers. However, throughout the country the advantage will be in favor of Lada Granta – this is the most popular budget car.
“The main factor limiting Vesta sales so far is the lack of an automatic transmission. Therefore, some customers may choose Chinese cars, but most consumers will still prefer Vesta,” the expert believes.
In turn, Sergey Burgazliev, an independent consultant to the automotive and transport industry, notes that Chinese sedans have only recently appeared in dealerships and have not yet gained popularity among buyers. At the same time, the upcoming indexation of waste collection puts them at a disadvantage compared to Vesta, which is already traditionally included in state support programs.
“After the increase in scrapping fees, AvtoVAZ, as always, will gain an even greater advantage, and the consumer will be forced to consider Lada models for purchase. The tireless formation of greenhouse conditions for AvtoVAZ, in fact, reduces the competition I wonder how long will this continue?, says the expert.
