The candidate for the presidency of the Government and leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, with the “trophy” of the elections in hand, has assured the media that it is still a “hasty conclusion” that he will assume that he will not form a government, after learning of the refusal of the PNV, which remains reluctant to negotiate the investiture with the Popular Party, a position that the Basque party took last night.
“Saying that you do not have support for having spoken with a group seems to me a hasty conclusion,” said Núñez Feijóo this Tuesday in Compostela, who on Galicia Day wanted to attend, as he did in his time as president of the Xunta, the offering to the Apostle.
On the other hand, the Navarrese party, the UPN and the Canary Islands Coalition are in the “best of all dispositions”, assures the leader of the PP. Immediately afterwards, he wanted to add that in the coming weeks he will try to reach an agreement with them and start negotiations with the PSOE and Vox. After he starts all this, he assures that they will work to make a decision as soon as possible.
Waiting for new political alliances
With everything ready to be invested, Núñez Feijóo needs the yes of both Vox and the Basque nationalists, two parties facing each other. At the same time, the Canarian Coalition has announced that it will not support a government in which Vox is in, although Feijóo believes that they are on the way to voting yes.
For the moment, as things are, Núñez Feijóo, who has made these statements to the press accompanied by Alfonso Rueda, head of the Galician Executive, has only added the yes of the Unión del Pueblo Navarro (UPN), with one deputy, who will be added to the 136 that the PP achieved at the polls.
