Alberto Nuñez-Feijóo, president of the PP, and Cuca Gamarra have presented this Tuesday the electoral program with which the Popular Party contests the next general elections on July 23. The roadmap for the next legislature involves the implementation of 365 measures, where the economy will be at the center, with the objective, which the candidate had already advanced, of reaching 22 million Social Security contributors and for the Spanish economy to be at the forefront of growth in the European Union.
To do this, Feijóo has recalled some of the measures that had been progressing in recent days and that have been integrated into the program, such as a tax reform that would benefit measured and low incomes, or a rethinking of European funds, which reactivate rural Spain. “The PP is the one that has best served our economy”, he has pointed out, highlighting the economic management of other popular executives and has criticized the poor management of the PSOE in economic matters during the legislature.
“In this legislature, it has not been possible to access housing, it is more difficult and more expensive, and occupations are growing,” he insisted. “The population has become impoverished and the per capita income is 17 points lower than that of the EU,” she added. “The IMV leaves out 2 out of 3 possible beneficiaries…, what social shield are you talking about?” Alberto Nuñez-Feijóo has reproached the government of Pedro Sánchez.
Feijóo wants to shield judicial independence in the first 100 days of government
The president of the PP has also advanced that the adjustments that he intends to apply to the PSOE’s labor reform will be those that are agreed with the social agents and that the entire legislature will seek to achieve the State pacts. Some of the specific areas of these broad agreements to reform key areas -with Pedro Sánchez or with the PSOE leader who follows him after the elections- will be water, education or the shielding of public health. Likewise, he has promised to protect judicial independence in his first 100 days in office.
Feijóo has also alluded to Yolanda Díaz’s recent proposal to inject 20,000 euros to each young person who turns 18; She takes the opportunity to send a message to the businessmen that if she governs the tensions that have been seen with them will not be repeated, but that economic policies differentiated by income will be used. “No government is here to single out businessmen,” he stated. “I do not share the attacks on Amancio, but I am not going to pay him for the cinema, nor for Juan Roig, but I do not see it as reasonable to pay him for the commuter ride; I am not going to insult any footballer, but I am not going to give him 20,000 euros to start a business “, he pointed out during the presentation of the program for 23-J.
