Since August 1, the government of the Russian Federation increased the car recycling fee by 1.7 to 3.7 times, depending on age and power. In the documents, this is called indexing, and it will lead to a major increase in the price of cars: for some, up to almost a million.
In general, the recycling fee has increased for all types of vehicles (light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and, above all, for electric vehicles) more than 10 times, and for electric buses, 8.7 times. It is paid by all car manufacturers and importers, including private dealers who bought a car abroad for themselves and not for resale. The meaning of the quitrent is that when the car becomes unusable, this money will be used to dispose of it. Such kind of prepaid.
But in reality, the removal fee is an additional protection duty. Because it is returned to national producers in the form of subsidies. Not immediately, but after a few months, but it is not returned to importers at all.
By the way, individual resellers are equated to legal entities and pay in full.
EXPERT: ALL CARS WILL GO UP
“It is clear that the goals of those who introduced the increase in the user fee were the best ones,” auto expert Igor Morzharetto told kp.ru. – This is the protection of the domestic manufacturer, as well as the fight against gray dealers who actively brought cars for parallel imports, a whole business has been built on this.
According to the expert, such an idea is appropriate in a well-functioning market.
– And so far this measure is not very timely for us, – says Morzharetto. – First of all, the dollar rose significantly against the ruble; this in itself will increase the price of cars. And secondly, our market is still very weak: no additional protective measures are needed. The Russian Dealers Association called on the government not to introduce this measure now, as it will lead to an increase in the price of all cars. To a greater extent, of course, imported ones, but domestic ones will also increase in price, despite the fact that Russian producers are paid compensation for salvage fees. Because compensation will be received in 3-6 months, and this time people and companies need to live somehow.

WHO WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE NEW RENT
There are also concessions. For example, for citizens who bought a car abroad for themselves, and not for resale, in any case, they did not part with it in the next 12 months after the purchase. And another condition – the car engine must be purely electric or not more than 3 liters. In this case, if the car is less than 3 years old, the fee is 3400 rubles, and older – 5200 rubles.
HOW TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH TO PAY
The base rate is multiplied by the coefficient. And the base rate is 20 thousand rubles. So, if, for example, the coefficient is 4, then the removal fee will be 80 thousand rubles.
