“We have been fortunate to spend almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful and loving marriage. Our path is now changing and we have decided to separate to continue our individual growth,” the now ex-spouses wrote.
They married when Hugh Jackman was 27 and Deborra-Lee Furness was 40. The couple has two adopted children. During all the years of marriage, the couple was not involved in any family scandals.
The former spouses did not indicate what the reason for the divorce was.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy as our family navigates this transition in our lives,” the statement said.
Apparently, there is no need to wait for additional details: the former spouses indicated that the published statement is the only thing they are willing to say about their separation.
